Love a good stack 😋 Currently reading Ali Smith’s How to be both. I read Autumn and Winter last year and fell in love with Ali Smith’s ability to play with words. It just seems like she has so much fun with her writing. It’s pretty inspiring. ✨
Hellooo there. Reading any good books this year? ✨ I’m embarking upon a Harry Potter reread, because it seemed about time. I read Philosopher’s Stone and watched the film over the weekend, and it was delightful. I love diving into this magical world again and again. ✨ I’m also reading Sally Rooney’s #NormalPeople and it’s just making me want to go back to university and all the intellectual debates with fellow liberal arts students, where we thought we knew everything and could change the world (we still can…). ✨ This snap is from back in Autumn when it wasn’t drizzly and cold in Berlin. And of course it was taken by @solmariathomas 💕
Looking back ✨ . Okay so I know we’re a week into the New Year but I let it go by without really taking a moment to be proud of myself for my little accomplishments within the inconsequential social construct of the calendar year, so here you go. I know everyone hates these self-congratulatory posts so please feel free to scroll on, but I’ll leave this here for myself. 🌻 In 2018, I… ✨ Finished writing, then edited Brew Books ✨ Signed with @Wattpad to be 1 of 20 English writers to launch the #WattpadNext program ✨ Completed #NaNoWriMo with a new 75k+ hot mess of a fantasy novel that desperately needs some attention ✨ Jumped into a new position @Babbel ✨ Travelled to 4 new countries - Albania, Canada, Greece and Hungary ✨ Read 51 books ✨ Visited Australia after 3 years away. 🌻 I’m proud of my writing and reading accomplishments always. My career and my travels are shiny bonuses. But it goes without saying that 2018 wouldn’t have been half as neat without the exemplary humans I surround myself with (cheesy) 🌻 p.s. as always with any photo of me where I look more than semi-decent, this is by @solmariathomas

From Ali to Zadie Smith 🙃 ✨ I’ve completed my goal of reading 50 books this year so now I can just relax and... read, I guess. ✨ Are you close to your reading goal? 😋
I’ve been burrowed away all of this month working on my new novel, which is young adult fantasy - a genre I haven’t written since I was a teen, but which holds a special place in my heart. It’s been so exciting and rewarding working on a magical fantasy novel about angsty teenagers. At the end of this month I’ll be done with the first (very rough) draft. Can’t wait to share this one with the world, one day ✨ ✨ In other exciting news… I completed my #Goodreads challenge to read 50 books this year. FIFTY.
